Phoenix sign rules
Zoning Ordinance §705 · City Code App. A.2
- Wall-type sign permit: $98 per sign (City Code App. A.2; the Sign FAQ's $75 is outdated)
- Ground sign permit: $195 per sign (City Code App. A.2; the Sign FAQ's $150 is outdated)
- Plan review: $195 per hour, minimum $195 (City Code App. A.2)
- Review (Sign FAQ): wall/window signs usually within 7 days; ground signs typically 14 days
Scottsdale sign rules
Zoning Ordinance Art. VIII as adopted · fees effective July 1, 2026
- Permit: $237 base fee per application + $26–$363 per sign
- Plan review: $39–$131 per sign
- Building signs: up to 250 sq ft each (40 sq ft in the Downtown Type 1 Area)
- No moving or animated signs except flags; no flashing, blinking or rotating lights
Mesa sign rules
2018 Sign Code (Ord. 5457) and later ordinances
- Permit: $102.40 + 3% of sign valuation + $0.30 per sq ft of sign area
- Review: within 10 business days; expedited 5 business days per review cycle
- Attached signs (Table D districts): up to 160 sq ft each
- Detached signs: 12 ft / 80 sq ft; one 120 sq ft / 14 ft sign for qualifying centers
